NASH Maritime Ltd have now completed a package of work in support to the
Southsea Coastal Scheme; the UK's largest local authority-led coastal defence project stretching 4.5km from Old Portsmouth to Eastney. The scheme will successfully help to reduce the risk of flooding to more than 10,000 homes and 700 businesses.
Working with Coastal Partners and Royal HaskoningDHV, we undertook a marine navigation risk assessment (NRA) and developed an aids to navigation scheme.
To undertake the review of the proposed design, location, spacing and type of Aids to Navigation we built on earlier work; undertaking a preliminary Navigational Risk Assessment ensuring an evidence and risk-based approach underpinned our recommendations.
To optimise the proposed scheme we then consulted with engineers and stakeholders.
