Maritime UK Solent has announced the appointment of Jamie Holmes, a founding Director of NASH Maritime, as one of two new Non-Executive Board positions, effective from September 2024.
Through his career, Jamie has held technical, project management and leadership roles before co-founding NASH Maritime with Dr Ed Rogers in 2018. NASH Maritime became part of APEM Group in July 2023.
Commenting on the appointments, Anne-Marie Mountifield, Chair of Maritime UK Solent, said:
"The Solent is recognised as a global leader in the maritime sector. We are looking to build on our existing assets and leverage the potential of the sector, facilitating high value innovation and enterprise, opening up access to new global markets.
"The new appointments will bring additional strengths to Maritime UK Solent and complement our existing cohort of Non-Executive Directors. I'm delighted to welcome them both to the Board as we move our outstanding maritime cluster to a new and exciting era."
Jamie Holmes added:
"I hope my experience and drive will help to deliver Maritime UK Solent's objectives and champion the entrepreneurial spirit amongst the Solent maritime community. Maritime UK Solent has achieved a great deal in a short time, and I’m very much looking forward to working as part of the Board and with organisations in our successful region."
The opportunity to join the board comes at an exciting time for Maritime UK Solent, following the Government’s latest commitment of a £1m fund to support the development of maritime cluster organisations.
