Bruce Mills appointed Technology Lead

We're delighted to announce the appointment of Bruce Mills as Technology Lead.

With full responsibility for the development of NASH Maritime’s technology advisory and software business, Bruce will play a key role in helping us to meet our ambitious goals of becoming the leading maritime technology consultancy.

With almost three decades of maritime risk management experience, Bruce brings extensive knowledge of port operations and safety management, having worked in both the consultancy and safety management technology sectors.

Bruce started his career with the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency working on the development and implementation of the UK’s Port Marine Safety Code, having done a maritime studies degree at Southampton Solent University (Warsash Maritime Academy).

He went on to join Transas Marine International (which was subsequently acquired by Wärtsilä Marine) and served in numerous senior roles in Sales, Management and Business Development. During his time at Transas/Wärtsilä, Bruce was responsible for many high-profile and prestigious projects in ports / harbours and coastal surveillance systems around the world.  This gave him valuable insight and experience into a wide range of industry-leading marine technologies, including on-board navigation systems, shore-based systems, Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) / Port Management Information Systems (PMIS), and marine training & simulators.

From there he returned to his consultancy roots, advising port and marine operators in all areas of navigational safety and helping developers manage risk as part of the consent process.

Commenting on the appointment NASH Maritime Director, Dr Ed Rogers, said,

“I’m delighted that Bruce Mills is joining us as Technology Lead. His strong knowledge and experience will be vital as we continue growing and developing our technology advisory and consultancy services.”

Bruce Mills added,

“I am excited to join the maritime risk specialists here at NASH Maritime – an amazing company that I have known and respected for many years. I look forward to returning to my roots in marine consultancy and working with our clients in ports / harbours and other maritime organisations around the world, to enhance safety, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability.”

Bruce joins us at a time when its technology consultancy services are increasingly in demand both in the UK and overseas.
