Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) and Port Management Information Systems (PMIS) are key tools in the safe and efficient management of marine operations in ports.
Challenge
Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK’s largest ports group, was seeking to standardise practice and drive efficiency by implementing new group wide systems for VTS and PMIS.
Solution
Recognised specialists in Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) and Port Management Information Systems (PMIS), NASH Maritime was commissioned by ABP to assist in developing the VTS / PMIS specification, and project management during the scope development and tendering process.
We provided subject matter expertise and initiated work through discovery workshops with the ABP IT and Marine departments with implementation support from specialist software integrators. This led ensured a clear understanding of ABP’s requirements and preferred ways of working.
Partnering with ABP, we helped to:
- Develop the technical requirements of the PMIS for the procurement process
- Prepare the technical specification for tendering
- Develop an analysis framework including case scenarios for decision-making
