Designated Person for Energy Park Fife

Providing independent assurance under the PMSC

Designated Person for Energy Park Fife

Energy Park Fife, a joint venture between Scottish Enterprise and Fife Council, was established to support businesses wishing to supply and service the Scottish Energy (renewables, oil & gas) Sector.

The Energy Park consists a 55 hectare engineering site(Engineering Zone), Methil Docks Business Park (Innovation Zone) and Methil Docks (Dock Zone). The Engineering Zone includes 360m of quayside, as well as 55 hectare engineering site.

The Port Marine Safety Code (PMSC) establishes the UK standards for every aspect of port marine safety and applies to any entity that operates any form of port or marine facility including those which do not otherwise have defined statutory powers and/or duties. Central to the Code is the development, operation and maintenance of a Marine Safety Management System (SMS) to minimise and manage risks associated with marine operations/activities.

To comply with the Code, a Designated Person must be appointed to provide independent assurance that the Marine SMS is compliant and working effectively.
